Parents of school children enrolled in a French immersion class at a Toronto public school say staffing issues are leaving their kids behind, with three substitute teachers — including a non-French speaker — leading the class this school year already, and one new unnamed teacher still to come.

The three unions representing workers in the Toronto District School Board, including the Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT), Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation Toronto (OSSTF), and Toronto Education Workers (CUPE 4400), met to develop strategies on building power to fight back against austerity and privatization in education.
